Dr. Dhikra Amel Bouzid is a dean and associate professor at the University Center of Illizi’s Institute of Letters and Languages, where she connects academic theory to social action through service-learning. Leveraging the support of hundreds of students and over a dozen faculty members, she established academic clubs to facilitate community partnership initiatives to address challenges affecting young Algerians in rural areas. Her focus on underserved youth in Algeria’s remote regions is working to shift higher education into a platform for systemic change through volunteerism and civic engagement.
