Advocacy Advisor, Mongolian Youth Council

Mongolia

Bolorsaikhan Badamsambuu is an advocacy advisor for the Mongolian Youth Council, a non-governmental organization that empowers young people to become active citizens and leaders by protecting human rights and democracy. He led a movement with 10,000 members that resulted in the 2015 abolition of the death penalty and successfully mobilized the community to defend this victory against reinstatement in 2017. Beyond judicial reform, Bolorsaikhan co-designed a local reporting system for human rights violations and successfully led a movement for a 2023 law mandating human rights and gender equality education in all Mongolian schools. He is motivated to establish a democracy where human rights are embedded in its design as he navigates shrinking civic space and geopolitical dynamics at the national level.
