As destructive, fast-moving wildfires—exacerbated by high temperatures and a changing climate—rage through communities in California, Oregon, and Washington, we’ve been inspired by the many ways community members, firefighters, first responders, farmers, and other essential personnel are working together to contain the fires and care for their communities. Even with their own lives at risk, they’re dedicating themselves to helping others in a spirit of shared sacrifice. We offer them our deepest thanks.
These fires have displaced hundreds of thousands of people and destroyed thousands of homes. To do your part to help those affected, here are just a few organizations that need your support:
California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Relief Fund:

For 15 years, the foundation has offered aid to those affected by wildfires. Grants have gone to rebuilding homes, providing financial and mental health assistance, and helping those affected to get medical treatment.
Central California Food Bank:

The Central California Food Bank is currently accepting financial contributions as well as volunteers to meet increasing demand.

This organization is on the ground distributing financial assistance to people who have lost everything in the fires. Through its emergency assistance program, firefighters distribute prepaid gift cards to help those who need to purchase necessities like food, medicine, and clothing.

The California-based Latino Community Foundation has re-activated its Wildfire Relief Fund to support Latino-led grassroots organizations supporting families displaced by current fires.
