Walter Isaacson

Walter Isaacson is a professor of History at Tulane and the president and former CEO of the Aspen Institute.
He has been chairman and CEO of CNN and editor of TIME magazine. He is the author of several bestselling biographies, including The Code Breaker: Jennifer Doudna, Gene Editing, and the Future of the Human Race (2021), Leonardo da Vinci (Oct 2017) and Steve Jobs (2011). He is a graduate of Harvard College and of Pembroke College of Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes Scholar.
Isaacson was chairman of the Broadcasting Board of Governors, and was vice chair of the Louisiana Recovery Authority from 2005 to 2007. He is chair emeritus of Teach for America and serves on the boards of United Airlines, Tulane University, the New Orleans City Planning Commission, the New Orleans Tricentennial Commission, Bloomberg Philanthropies, the Society of American Historians, the Carnegie Institution for Science, and My Brother’s Keeper Alliance.
