Dillon Nettles is the policy and advocacy director of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Alabama, a nonprofit committed to preserving and protecting the civil liberties and civil rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. Dillon leads the ACLU of Alabama's policy initiatives and legislative program, focusing on issues such as speech and protest rights, reproductive freedom, inhumane jail and prison conditions, and voting rights. Dillon is passionate about engaging youth policy advocates and demystifying institutions, like state legislatures, that are hostile toward democratic values and important battlegrounds for vulnerable communities who are fighting back against attacks on their very identity.
