Pinja Perholehto is a Member of the Parliament of Finland, where she advocates for youth empowerment, mental health, and inclusive policy making, and focuses on amplifying the voices of young people. She contributed to the “Free Secondary Education” citizen initiative, which promoted accessible education across Finland. Pinja leads her party’s mental health working group, which focuses on improving mental health care in Finland, in addition to seeking structural and attitudinal changes regarding mental health. Previously, she was Chair of the Finnish Social Democratic Youth, where she facilitated youth engagement in policy development and advocacy, contributing to tangible policy outcomes driven by youth, such as the phasing out of fur farming. Pinja also has a strong background in community engagement, demonstrated by her service as a city councilor in Hyvinkää.
