Charles Fredricksson de Belen is the legal and legislative head of the Congressional Committee on Senior Citizens. Charles’ work in the Philippine Congress helped pass landmark pieces of legislation that doubled pensions for more than five million indigent senior citizens, created the National Commission of Senior Citizens, and expanded and strengthened the rights of senior citizens. Charles also co-founded GoodGov PH, an organization dedicated to youth empowerment through education, training, and advocacy. As a lawyer, author, professor, and policymaker, Charles champions bottom-up change, advocating for active youth participation in governance and senior citizens’ rights in the Philippines.
