Maureen Rosita Ojong Ebob-Besong is an Olympism365 manager at the International Olympic Committee (IOC), where she leads and supports outreach efforts and implements strategies that position sports as a key contributor to sustainability and social equity. At IOC, she co-led a three million dollar investment for the Sports For Education and Sustainable Livelihoods in Africa program, impacting over 15,000 youth across 14 African countries with skills development. Maureen is dedicated to supporting young people through sports and building well-resourced systems for mental health access for athletes. She has collaborated with international stakeholders, including the International Olympic Committee, the Senegalese National Olympic Committee, UNESCO IBE, the National Basketball Association (Africa x HQ), The SEED Project and various governmental and intergovernmental organizations, to advance programs/initiatives that integrate sports with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and which aim at enhancing youth empowerment, community development, social behavioral change, and capacity building, particularly in underrepresented regions across Africa, Europe, Oceania and in the MENA region.
