Dr. Marx Lwabanya is the executive director of Jali Afya, a collaborative network of health providers and community members seeking to provide high-quality healthcare to all Congolese. Based on Marx’s belief that empowering women leads to a transformed household, Jali Afya focuses on the economic empowerment of underserved women in rural areas. Jali Afya provides financial literacy training and business planning to address the extreme poverty faced by Congolese women and has impacted over 1,320 households in Eastern Congo. Through his work at Jali Afya, Marx aspires to become a leader in the health equity space, changing underresourced communities to productive households through small business ownership
