Mali
Djénéba Gory is the co-founder and chief operating officer of Suadela, a non-profit organization that strives to uplift adolescent girls via negotiation skills development. Suadela operates in Mali using a “train-the-trainer” approach and plans to expand its programming throughout Africa. Djénéba also works as a gender and education consultant for The World Bank Group, where she advises governments on education and gender equality in more than 15 African countries. Djénéba’s experience of seeing her mother advocate so strongly for her children’s education after being unable to finish her own education due to family commitments is the inspiration behind her organization, Suadela.
