Dikeledi Mokoena

Dikeledi A. Mokoena is a Ph.D. candidate in political science and one of the youngest faculty members at the Thabo Mbeki African Leadership Institute. She teaches Afrikan feminism and gender studies. She is a researcher at the Centre for Sexualities, Aids & Gender where she co-designed a just leadership program aimed at training young people to build inclusive communities. Dikeledi has offered leadership and governance trainings, worked on various community development initiatives, some of which involved facilitating workshops and community dialogues on pan-Africanism, xenophobia, sexual violence et cetera. She is the deputy coordinator of the Pan-African Federal Movement for Southern Africa, which is a grassroots movement working globally towards United African States in our generation. In 2017, she was voted 33rd on the list of Most Influential Young South Africans and received two nominations for the Africa Youth Awards. Dikeledi was recently a finalist for the Sol Plaatje European Union poetry award.
