Host an event at the Presidential Center

As part of the rental experience, you’ll have access to campus food and beverage partners, as well as the latest in audio visual technology. Larger campus rentals are also possible.

• What is included in the Event Fee?

  Basic security, setup and breakdown of event spaces, and access to chairs and tables for associated guest counts per space are included. Please inquire with your sales manager about exact quantities as this varies per space.All linens, plateware, flatware, and glassware as well as all F&B will be contracted with our F&B partner or one of our preferred caterers at the Home Court. Billing based on the scope of the event, including event hours and number of people, will be determined accordingly.  

  Additional visitor services such as maintenance or security staff, may be required.  This will be additional and will not be included in the venue rental fee.

• Who is the preferred food and beverage partner for the campus?

  Chef Cliff Rome and Bon Appétit Management Company will lead food service and catering at the Center for private events. 

  This partnership, operating as BAMJoy, brings together deep local roots and world-class hospitality to shape a dining experience that reflects the South Side’s culture.

• Who are your preferred catering partners for the Home Court at OPC?

  We have selected  preferred caterers that reflect different cultural approaches and price points to meet the demands of programs and events that will take place.

• What are the hours of operation for the campus and can you extend hours of operation?

  The hours of operation for events vary per building. However, all events will have an end time of 11 p.m. with a possible extension to 12 a.m. Further extensions will be discussed on a case-by-case basis. 

• Will your facility be a union house?

  Yes, the Obama Presidential Center is deeply committed to organized labor. We are proud to host onsite union teams and we require our third-party vendors to utilize union labor for all applicable services, ensuring our operations support a strong workforce.

• What audiovisual equipment will be included in each space and will there be additional fees to use the equipment?

  Available audiovisual amenities are outlined with each space. Use of equipment will require additional labor based on the event scope. All additional AV and AV labor will be contracted through our exclusive AV Partner, FROST.
